Roadway Express, Inc.
I was working as an Industrial Engineer for (Singer) Control's Company of America in Fremont, Ohio. When talking with an old friend, I heard they were hiring at Roadway Express in Toledo, Ohio. Having prior experience with United Parcel Service, I thought that I could hire on at Roadway Express with a wage increase.

In September of 1970 I hired on as a Ten per center, working as on call basis at Roadway Express.  My job consisted of  loading, and unloading freight from trailers. The Toledo Terminal was used as a Break Bulk point, in order for the facility to make direct loads to various Cities, and States throughout the USA.

I decided to become an Over the Road Driver in the late 1980's. I took Road Driver Training Courses on pulling single, double, and triple trailers. I also took Defensive Driving Courses along with Decision Making Driving Courses.

In 1995, after 25 years of service, I took an early retirement from Roadway Express.

During my years at Roadway Express, I worked with some really great people!
